Frequently asked questions

What can i expect in my garden boxes?

You can expect a variety on common vegetable, fruits, and herbs based on what is currently in season. Throughout the season you may receive salad greens, tomatoes, berries, sweet corn, melons, peppers, onions, cucumbers, beans, etc. We aim to grow things that we know people want. Occasionally you may receive a few less common things, but nothing too crazy.

Will every box be the same?

Nope! Boxes will have different items as the season progresses. In the beginning they may be a little less due to less produce being in season. As time goes on, more and more will be ready to harvest and others will be be done. We will do everything we can to provide you with a great box. But keep in mind, it is not like going to the big grocery store and having a wide choice of produce trucked in from all over the world. In some of the smaller boxes at the beginning and end of the season you may find extras like fresh baked homemade bread, popping corn, and fresh cut flowers.

Can i make special requests for my box?

Due to many variables, it is not possible for us to accommodate special requests.

Do I have to do any work to participate?

No! Our program does not require you to work in the gardens.

is the garden and produce organic?

In order to advertise or call anything truly “organic” , a farm and/or product must meet very specific criteria and be certified. In short, we are not certified organic. What we can say is that we make every effort to be good stewards of the land, use mostly heirloom seeds, and grow our food the the most natural way we can. We eat what we grow and we never sell a product we wouldn’t feed our family.

is everything grown on the farm?

We grow a great deal right here at our farm. We also partner with other local farmers and growers (like the Amish for example) to provide our customers with the very best products. This allows us to conserve land and stay true to best practices. For example, growing watermelons is quite an endeavor. They require a great deal of space, specific soil condition, and a significant amount of water. By partnering with other local farmers we can focus our time and space growing things that work better together. We assure you that they also grow in the most natural ways and can produce the specific product that is far superior to what we can and in a better way. We also consume this produce and promise we only give the best to our Members.
